Tuesday, 6. of January - 20:30h
Lehderstraße 74, Berlin Weißensee
This program brings together contemporary and classical traditions, and on the occasion of Alexander Scriabin’s birthday (6 January 1872), a solo is dedicated to him.
Set 1: filigree Duo Improvisation
Matthias Badczong - clarinet & Dietrich Petzold - violin/ viola
Dietrich Petzold and Matthias Badczong are classically trained musicians; Petzold works today across contemporary and applied music as a violinist, violist and composer in theatre, film and radio contexts, while Badzcong works today mainly in contemporary music as a clarinet and bass clarinet player, focusing on chamber music and ensemble work.
Set 2: „12 Improvised Études“ - inspired by the late works of Alexander Skrjabin
Isabel Anders - Piano Solo
The 12 Improvised Études shares aspects of Skrjabin´s approach to creating sound. Expressive intensity emerges through harmonic ambiguity, color and inherent tension. The Etudes develop — increasingly forward-driven, vivid, dramatically expressive and urgent, with rhythmic pulse and sharp accentuation; oscillating between veiled fragility, late-Romantic lyricism, and energetic intensity.
