Un repaso a los contenidos de este número: dos entrevistas realizadas a músicos muy reconocidos por su talento y el instrumento que tocan: Olaf Rupp, la guitarra, y Jonas Kocher, el acordeón, con las firmas de Rogelio Pereira y un servidor.

Además, damos a conocer la entrevista reciente de Dan Ouellette a la guitarrista Mary Halvorson, realizada y publicada en medium.com y que servirá de último capítulo en su próximo libro The Jazz Journey en Cymbal Press.

También agradecemos a Luis Lamadrid su texto Videoartistas 3.0, dedicado a la memoria de su compañero profesional Paco Utray Delgado, fallecido en el mes de abril.

El día 18 de octubre CRUCE acoge una nueva sesión de ¡Escucha! esta vez de la mano del artista sonoro Federea.

Federea es un artista que lleva un buen tiempo trabajando en la creación sonora espontánea y diferida desde un enfoque heterodoxo y experimental. Se presenta en solo y en colaboración con artistas de diferentes campos y procedencias, utilizando el piano, pequeños instrumentos, objetos, voz y electrónica como principales medios sonoros. Ha tocado en los últimos años en diversos foros de América, Oceanía y Europa; en la actualidad participa activamente en el circuito de músicas improvisadas y experimentales de París, en donde está radicado. En esta ocasión -tocando por primera vez en Madrid- presentará un set mixto con pequeños instrumentos y objetos, explorando, a través de la improvisación y con la ayuda de la electroacústica, el latido manifiesto y oculto de dichas fuentes sonoras, propiciando interacciones múltiples entre lo acústico y lo amplificado, entre gesto y procesos en vivo, evento y registro, acción e intención, sonido y sentido…

Kontrabasisten Hasse Larsson, född och uppvuxen i Örebro, frilandsmusiker och spelar tillsammans med många artister och i många olika sammanhang. Vi har kunnat hört och sett honom tillsammans med Peps Persson, Jesse Lindgren och Dixiesnubbarna, Ronnie Gardiner, Soul Train med Claes Jansson han spelade med Monica Zetterlund och finns med som musiker på hennes album Varsamt och den underbara sången Under Vinrankan. JACK BLOCK is a word rant crash ride trio using the primal ingredients voice and percussion.
David Aylward is best known as the drummer with Blurt. Making music both internationally and as an engaged local artist, currently with long term open improv duo Rabbit he also has a seasoned history with legendary absurdists Brain of Morbius and the early post punk experiments of Baby Trio. Each May he steers Deptford through the urban re imagining of Jack in the Green with the DeptfordRUR project.
Sir Eddie Real will play cahon and cymbals. Percussionist with Alabama 3 and sound constructivists Test Dept. he continues across a long career to find new situations and contexts.

El proximo mes de Octubre es el 27 aniversario de Gure Hitzak. Mucho ha llovido ya desde aquel primer concierto en el hace ya años extinto Etxebeltz de Astrabudua con Ya te digo y Borrokan en Octubre de 1999. Para esta ocasion de evento aniversario, que tendra lugar en el Sarean de Bilbo, ha quedado sin pretenderlo, un cartel con cierto aire tematico con 4 mas que excelentes propuestas en el plano tanto internacional como local. Siendo, 3 de ellas especialmente, orientadas a la guitarra, y tambien siendo las 4 en formato solitario o duo.

Gure hitzak se congratula en presentar para esta ocasion a Tashi Dorji en directo en Sarean, en el corazon de Bilbao esta vez, el proximo Viernes 16 de Octubre. Guitarrista con una prolifica discografia en Drag City records y carrera en el mundo de la improvisacion libre y experimentacion en la que ha colaborado con gente como Efrim Menuck (Goodspeed you! black emperor) o Aaron Turner (Sumac, Neurosis) entre muchos otros. Esta seria su segunda visita a Europa en el año 2026 en la que presenta su ultimo disco en solitario "Low clouds hang, this land is on fire" editado por Drag city records el pasado mes de Junio.

Jai/egun_Como un secreto, Aitor Martínez Merino ha ido trabajando en un disco imaginario desde su habitación a lo largo de los años. Sin experiencia en otros proyectos y sin ni siquiera haber actuado en directo, se animó a grabar de manera profesional todo lo que había ido cocinando durante casi una vida en El Tigre Studios con Jon Aguirrezabalaga, a quien estaremos eternamente agradecidos por habernos acercado a la posibilidad de editar un disco tan importante.

Volvemos a la habitación, una habitación oscura en la que cohabitan Arthur Rusell, Fugazi, Mikel Laboa y Tomatito, por decir, ya que la propuesta de Aitor es tan personal y valiente que casi podría ser la definición en sí misma de un nuevo género a su alrededor. Los nombres pues sobran y nos quedamos con cadencias, giros y progresiones inesperadas, con las que jai/egun recurre a un lenguaje universal y primario.

Con textos en euskera y prácticamente la única ayuda de una guitarra española tocada con genio y rabia, jai/egun desgrana un auténtico ejercicio de introspección, abriéndonos una ventana a su vida y a su mundo. El resultado, un álbum sobrecogedor, a ratos desolador, cálido y sorprendente, que se anticipa como uno de los discos del año y no porque lo digamos nosotros, que sí, esto es una nota de prensa, sino porque seguro que no se te ocurre otro disco más sincero editado en este país lleno de maquillaje y tontería.

Im Fokus steht der individuelle Blick auf die Überforderung durch digitale Präsenz – den Zwang zur Sichtbarkeit, die Logik permanenter Selbstverausgabung, die Erschöpfung einer Kunst, die im Modus ständiger, manischer Versuche der Publikumsgeneration durch immer mehr ausufernde digitaler Präsenz bestehen soll.

Gesucht wird ein Ausweg mittels musikalischer Strategien und Ausdrucksweisen im Sinne der Selbstermächtigung: Die Entwicklung einer musikalischen Sprache zwischen Wiederholung, Persiflage, Bruch, Verdichtung und Stille, die radikal individuelle Perspektiven kommuniziert.

Improvisation wird hier zum Ort des Widerstands: gegen Glättung, Genrehypes und die marktschreierische Maschinerie der Aufmerksamkeitsökonomie in Social Media. Bernhard Schöberl, Reni Weichselbaum und Michael Zacherl, werden den von Gloria Damijan kuratierten Abend mit Improvisationen, Text- und Videobeiträgen, eigenen Konzepten sowie der Uraufführung eines neuen Werks von Judith Unterpertinger gestalten.
