This is an event created with the goal of bringing artists and creatives from different disciplines together on stage. Whether within the framework of Free Impro, concept-based creation, or dramaturgy as a starting point, the artists create unique narratives in performance. We aim to expand the spectrum of interdisciplinary work and to explore how different artists can interact with one another, as part of a whole, and not just complementarily.

DIVERGENCIES, is based on the possibility that exists within each different artistic language, creating unique experiences with the audience as a witness, or active partakers.

UOMA- OULU (FINLANDIA)

Esta próxima semana, hasta el viernes 7, estaré de nuevo en Oulu (Finlandia), para participar en la inauguración de #UOMA, exposición que reúne los resultados de un intercambio artístico entre Finlandia y España.

El martes 4 de agosto, de 18:00 a 20:00, presentaremos en la Galleria MABD la pieza audiovisual "Ante Hadean" (2026), realizada junto a la artista visual finlandesa Liina Holmes. Tras la residencia compartida en abril, hemos continuado explorando los temas abordados en esta obra: la experiencia humana de la duración, las escalas profundas de la materia y la posibilidad de una forma de conciencia geológica.

La muestra, abierta del 5 al 30 de agosto, reúne también trabajos de Antti J. Leinonen, Miguel Sbastida, Johanna Pöykkö y Lucia Loren.

Mi agradecimiento más sincero al equipo del Instituto Iberoamericano de Finlandia y, en particular, a Outi Kuoppala —su energía y su apoyo han sido imprescindibles para este proyecto—, Wendela Rönnlund, Luisa Gutiérrez Ruiz, Sofia Mäenalanen y a su directora, Tiina Jortikka-Laitinen. También, muy especialmente, a Miguel Ángel Gilfer por su ayuda y confianza constante durante todo este proceso.

“Hot Cat” is the Performance Series Project. Stressing experimentation and improvisation, it integrates music from different styles and artists from different backgrounds on the Earth into an organic whole.
“Hot Cat” is an open structure which allows each artist to freely contribute his or her ideas to add to the unique texture of the Hot Cat performance.
"Hot Cat" also integrates music with any kinds of Creative Activities such as Film, Butoh-Dance, Performance, Live-Painting and lots of more.

::: Motoya Kondo (Butoh-Dance)

Born in Nagoya Japan, dancer, movement director, and co-founder of Motimaru Dance Company. From 2005 he had been studying butoh with Yoshito Ohno, son of Kazuo Ohno and worked as his assistant.
After 2010 he has started field work researches of local and traditional dances in Japan, India, Nepal, Spain, and Bali, studied Balinese dance with Agun Anom Putra, I Made Djimat, and Ida Bagus Oka Wirjana, in search of universal principle of movements and dance.
Since 2008, he has been immersed in the practice and study of Eastern contemplative traditions, particularly following the Tibetan traditions, and bridging between contemporary art practices and the age old wisdom.
He has been performing and teaching in: Venezia Biennale 2010, 9th International Choreography Competition "No Ballet”, International Dance Festival Lucky Trimmer 2016, Hildesheim University, Leipzig University, Hasselt University, Academy of Media Arts Cologne, etc., Europe, Asia, Australia in over 50 cities.

::: Shuichi Chino (Piano)

Born in Tokyo shortly after WW2. Started in the 1970s as a keyboard player in various pop, rock, free-xx groups. Composer, improvisor for dance, butoh, theater, movie. Hobby programmer. Living in Berlin since 2012.

Cellist, Shakuhachi & Double Bass player, improviser & composer, he studied and graduated in France where he received "premier prix from conservatoire in Aix en Provence".
He has performed in National Centers for Music Creation like GMEM, for festivals and concerts in Europe, Asia, Middle east and US, recently in Festivals Apnées Grenoble, EMAF Osnabrück, Lacking Sound Festival, Taipei.
Based in Berlin, he collaborates with composers and artists from all disciplines, he can be heard from solo to large ensembles such as "Berlin Improvisers Orchestra" and "Grand 8" (Marseille).
His graphics and sound work series « Zeilen » is performed and exhibited in France and in Germany.

::: Shiomi Kawaguchi (Shamisen, Shinobue, Effect)

Since childhood in Tokyo, she has studied Tsugaru Shamisen and Minyo, traditional Japanese folk songs.
After years of traveling along the Silk Road with her Shamisen, she relocated to Berlin in 2017, where encounters with diverse musical communities transformed her practice beyond traditional forms. Deeply influenced by funeral ceremonies, local folk music, and the sounds of nature encountered throughout her travels, she creates immersive sonic journeys through Tsugaru Shamisen, voice, electronics, noise, and improvisation — balancing explosive intensity with moments of deep stillness.
She has performed internationally, including at the 2024 Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony in Oslo as Mitsune Trio.

::: Fumio Okura (Violin, Planning & Structuring)

Studied Violin, Conducting and Musicology in Tokyo and in Berlin.
Studied Conducting further with Prof. Peter Eötvös and was also the Guest Student at Staatsoper Berlin. PhD-Student at FU-Berlin.
He also works as a Voice Actor for more than 100 Films.
In parallel with strong interest in Music and Theater he pursues the Sound Possibilities of the Instrumental Combinations with various styles and backgrounds.
His project "Hot Cat" tries the “Integrated Arts” with Experimental Music and Film, Live Painting, Performance or Butoh-Dance.

〄 Το «Μεταξύ δύο Κόσμων – Έξι Κεφάλαια» παρουσιάζεται για πρώτη φορά ως μια μικρής κλίμακας, work in progress εκδοχή ενός ευρύτερου καλλιτεχνικού έργου που βρίσκεται σε εξέλιξη.

Η ιδέα βασίζεται στους έξι κύκλους χημειοθεραπείας που βίωσε η συνθέτρια και λειτουργεί ως μέσο καταγραφής διαφορετικών ψυχικών και σωματικών μετατοπίσεων κατά τη διάρκεια αυτής της εμπειρίας. Μέσα από μια διαδικασία καλλιτεχνικής συνύπαρξης, η εμπειρία μετασχηματίζεται σε ένα ανοιχτό πεδίο διαλόγου ανάμεσα στην εικόνα, τον ήχο, τον τόπο και τη μνήμη.

Η έκθεση αποτελείται από έξι φωτογραφικά κεφάλαια και ισάριθμες πρωτότυπες συνθέσεις. Η καλλιτεχνική διαδικασία αναπτύσσεται με θετικό πρόσημο, με διάθεση αποδοχής της αλλαγής και αναζήτησης μιας δημιουργικής συνύπαρξης ανάμεσα στους δύο καλλιτέχνες.

Κάθε κύκλος περιλαμβάνει 4 εώς 6 φωτογραφίες και ένα πρωτότυπο μουσικό/ηχητικό έργο, αναπτύσσοντας τη δική του ηχητική και εικαστική πολυφωνία και δημιουργώντας μικρές δια-φυγές και ενδιάμεσους χώρους ανάμεσα στο πραγματικό και το φαντασιακό. Οι τόποι των φωτογραφίσεων λειτουργούν ως αφετηρίες μιας κοινής εξερεύνησης, όπου η διαδικασία, η συνάντηση και η μεταμόρφωση αποκτούν κεντρικό ρόλο.

Η παρούσα έκδοση αποτελεί το πρώτο δημόσιο άνοιγμα της έρευνας και προετοιμάζει την πλήρη ανάπτυξη του έργου σε μεγαλύτερη κλίμακα.

 Στις 10/07 στις 20:00 θα πραγματοποιηθεί μουσικό–εικαστικό live σε πέντε κεφάλαια, με ζωντανή αλληλεπίδραση των δύο δημιουργών, ενεργοποιώντας εκ νέου το υλικό της έκθεσης μέσα από αυτοσχεδιασμό, ήχο και εικόνα.

Exhibition of Photography & Original Sound Compositions

〄 “Between Worlds – Six Chapters” is presented for the first time as a small-scale work in progress version of a broader artistic project currently in development.

The concept is based on six cycles of chemotherapy experienced by the composer, and functions as a means of recording different psychological and physical shifts throughout this experience. Through a process of artistic co-existence, the experience is transformed into an open field of dialogue between image, sound, place, and memory.

The exhibition consists of six photographic chapters and an equal number of original musical compositions. The artistic process develops with a positive drive, a tendency toward escape, acceptance of change, and the search for a creative co-existence between the two artists.

Each cycle includes 4–6 photographs and one original sound piece, developing its own sonic and visual polyphony and creating small escapes and intermediate spaces between the real and the imaginary. The locations of the shoots function as starting points for a shared exploration, where process, encounter, and transformation play a central role.

This edition marks the first public presentation of the research and prepares the full-scale development of the project.

On 10/07 at 20:00, a music–visual live performance in five chapters will take place, featuring real-time interaction between the two artists, reactivating the exhibition material through improvisation, sound, and image.
