Leander Vandereecken en Olivier Vander Bauwede, beiden Gentenaars, zijn twee gepassioneerde blues- en rootsmuzikanten. Samen vormen ze een akoestisch duo met gitaar, mondharmonica en zang. Hun samenwerking begon bij Missy Sippy, waar ze een sleutelrol spelen in de lokale scene. Leander, bekend van A Murder In Mississippi, heeft zijn sporen verdiend als zanger en gitarist. Olivier, een veelzijdig multi-instrumentalist en virtuoos mondharmonicaspeler, werkte samen met artiesten als Roland Van Campenhout, Ian Siegal, Absynthe Minded en Sylvie Kreusch.

Es hat gute Gründe, warum bei dieser Band die Namen aller Beteiligten gleichberechtigt gelistet sind. „Moving Times“ ist das Resultat echter Teamarbeit – eine frisch formierte Gruppe, in der alle auf Augenhöhe agieren. Mit Sängerin Esther Kaiser und Gitarrist Axel Fischbacher sind zwei gestandene Kapazitäten des deutschen Jazzgeschehens vertreten, die seit vielen Jahren unabhängig voneinander eigene Bands leiten und eine Vielzahl eigener Alben veröffentlicht haben. Die beiden gehören verschiedenen Generationen an – Bassistin Genevieve O’Driscoll und Drummer/Vibraphonist Michael Knippschild repräsentieren eine weitere. Drei Generationen, zwei Frauen und zwei Männer – und es passt.

„Es gibt einen gemeinsamen Mindset in der Band“, formuliert es Fischbacher. Kaiser ergänzt: „Wir funktionieren als gleichberechtigtes Quartett, auch wenn Axel und ich den Anstoß gegeben haben.“ Fischbacher bringt es auf den Punkt: „Es ist schon etwas Besonderes, dass aus einer solchen Konstellation, in der niemand das große Sagen hat, etwas künstlerisch derart Einheitliches entsteht und man ein solches Ergebnis hinkriegt.“ In der Tat klingt das Quartett wie aus einem Guss. Vom Start weg spürt man einen frischen, positiven Spirit, der sich durch die Vielzahl unterschiedlichster Kompositionen zieht. Der Jam-Faktor ist der Band wichtig – „wir finden eine gute Mitte zwischen Arrangement und Spontaneität – fließend zwischen Besprochenem und dem, was im Moment passiert“.

𝗟𝗮𝗻 𝗛𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗵’s work serves as a critical case study in the subversive potentials of performance art. His contributions are an articulation of body-positive transgression, and a testament to the intricate relationships between the cerebral, the corporeal, and the emotional, all undergirded by a persistent commitment to inventive dialogue and art’s capacity for both questioning and community-building.

THE HUB: A Program for Temporary Collaborations as Performance

The HUB is a space set up to practice collaboration as performance through a series of acts. The acts occur amorphously into situations conditioned by actual circumstances and their occurrences are transformative. The participating artists explore the perception of time and the self-reflexive nature of embodied experience, in which awareness evolves continuously within the constant flow of acts. Their explorations are guided by the performative principles of mobility, fluidity, ephemerality, repetition, contingency, and indeterminacy, embracing non-knowledge and non-representation. Through these collaborative acts, THE HUB opens up a space for reflecting on political and social challenges in a world of rapidly shifting power structures that create a fragile present and an uncertain future.

THE HUB: Ein Programm für temporäre Kooperationen als Performance

THE HUB initiiert einen Raum durch eine Reihe performativer Akte, um eine Praxis der Zusammenarbeit als Performance zu entwickeln. Die teilnehmenden Künstler*innen untersuchen die Wahrnehmung von Zeit und die selbstreflexive Natur verkörperter Erfahrung, in der sich das Bewusstsein innerhalb des konstanten Flusses von Akte kontinuierlich weiterentwickelt. Ihre Forschung orientiert sich an den performativen Prinzipien der Mobilität, Fluidität, Vergänglichkeit, Wiederholung, Kontingenz und Unbestimmtheit, mit Schwerpunkt auf Nicht-Wissen und Nicht-Repräsentation. Durch diese gemeinsamen Akte eröffnet THE HUB einen Raum, um über politische und soziale Herausforderungen in einer Welt schnell wechselnder Machtstrukturen nachzudenken, die eine fragile Gegenwart und eine ungewisse Zukunft schaffen.

En oförglömlig eftermiddag i Katalins Pub när den fantastiske trumpetaren Mårten Lundgren gästar, sjunger och svänger med sin trumpet i ett urval av sina bästa Jazzlåtar. Här tillsammans i ett tight sväng. Denna gång tillsammans med en speciellt inbjuden gäst - den skicklige Johan Alenius som svänger med sina saxar - Ambjörn Hugardt på bas - Den oefterhärmliga William Nilsson på gitarr och Håkan Jansson på trummor. Mårten Lundgren is a jazz-trumpetplayer and arranger mainly working in the Copenhagen/Malmö-area and can be heard in various constellations, from bigbands to small groups. Significant for his trumpetplaying is his ability to keep himself honest towards the music and also his ability to adapt his playing to the various demands he´s faced to.
Mårten was born in 1969 in the town Södertälje wich is situated about 30 km south of Stockholm.
He began playing the trumpet at the age of 9 and started studying at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm 1990 where he studied for trumpetplayers as Ulf Adåker, Gustavo Bergalli and Urban Eriksson. 1991 he took one year off to do his military service in a horseback-mounted military musicband, “Livgardets Dragontrumpetarkår”.
As early as during his time at the Academy, Mårten began to play proffessionally, and in 1992 he became a member of “Mats Holmquist Stora Stygga” and after graduating from the Academy he worked as a musician in Stockholm, playing with bands as “Stora Stygga”, “Stockholm Jazz Orchestra”, “Gugge Hedrenius Big Blues Band”, “Radiojazzgruppen”, “Ulf Andersson Band”, “Hector Bingert Latin Lover Big Band”, etc
In 1997 Mårten joined “The Ronnie Gardiner Septet” and could each summer until the summer of 2000 be heard at the Tivoli “Gröna Lund”. In 1997 Mårten substituted for the first time with Bohuslän Big Band, and played with them a lot for a period of 10 years.
In august 1999 Mårten moved to Copenhagen and managed in short time to establish himself on the jazzscene there.
Allready in november 1999 he played with “Niels-Jørgen Steen A-team” for the first time and shortly after Mårten managed to become a member of “The Tivoli Big Band” and can every summer be heard in the Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen.
In Denmark Mårten has also played with bands as “Bob Rockwell Quintet”, “The Danish Radio Big Band”, “The Orchestra”, etc….
In 2001 Mårten moved to Malmö, where he lives today. The same year he got the oppotunity to tour with the great swedish jazzmusician Arne Domnerus.
In 2003 the album “Travellin´” was released with Mårten as a leader.
In 2006/2007 Mårten studied arranging at the Academy of Music in Malmö for arranger Sten Ingelf.
Today Mårten is playing with in different constellations in the Malmö/Copenhagen-area.
