Antonin Gerbal's solo work questions the unity of the drums, transforming each of its elements into an unreal and archaic center. Drawing inspiration from groups such as أحمد [Ahmed], Sbatax and Umlaut Big Band, countless possible rhythms take shape from skin, wood and metal. A muted, cracked harmony opens up mental spaces of innumerable sequences with no real object. It goes round and round.
